PORTABLE AMPHITHEATER
The Portable Amphitheater project, implemented at Acıbadem University in Istanbul, was designed and constructed to provide uninterrupted service for the university’s cultural and social events throughout the year and under varying seasonal conditions.
Thanks to its modular and portable structure, the entire amphitheater can be completely dismantled and stored in an indoor or outdoor area when required. This flexibility also allows the existing site to be reused as a green area or for other purposes.
Specially imported timber, designed to withstand outdoor conditions throughout all four seasons, was used for the pedestrian walkways of the grandstands. The material provides high resistance to temperature variations and deformation, supporting safe pedestrian circulation while minimizing the risk of warping, surface cracking, peeling and splintering that could negatively affect user safety.
The steel structure of the amphitheater is fully protected using the hot-dip galvanizing method, providing a minimum 10-year corrosion resistance guarantee.
The PVC components used in the seating units were specially imported from Italy, while the steel structural components were manufactured at our own production facilities.
With its portable and reusable structure, durable material selection and year-round usability, the project provides a functional, aesthetic, safe and long-lasting outdoor event space for the university’s cultural and social activities.
